The Illinois Diversity Council brings you its 2nd annual LGBTQIA Roundtable aimed at driving equality in the marketplace through supplier diversity. This forum connects the LGBTQIA community, D&I allies, and corporate & business resource group leaders to collaborate on strategies that focus on commitment to engaging LGBT-owned suppliers in the procurement of goods and services.
Proactive supplier diversity programs seek to provide equal access to purchasing opportunities that increase organizations’ market share within the diverse communities where they operate. Learn about the unique challenges LGBT-owned businesses face in the marketplace and how you and your business resource group leaders can influence and promote integration of LGBT businesses within your supplier diversity strategy. Integrating inclusive strategies in research & development and marketing campaigns, are fundamental in engaging the LGBT community inside and outside the organizational walls.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots at Stonewall Inn. This uprising is widely recognized as the most important event leading to the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBT rights in the United States. We will reflect on where we’ve come from, where we are today, and future issues we will face in LGBTQIA equality.
