America’s Recovery: Powered By Inclusion
The Illinois Diversity Council is excited to bring forth its’ 5th annual Organizational Business Resource Group Roundtable. This year’s theme is America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion which mirrors Octobers’ National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) theme. However, we are expanding the scope to be inclusive of those cultures and communities most marginalized, reflecting the importance of ensuring that all associates have full access to employment and community involvement during the national recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. We have partnered with four prominent organizations and their Business Resource Group members (interchangeable with Employee and Associate) to provide an open and safe forum for these impactful voices to share the experiences of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Asian Pacific Islander and Latinx representation. The goal is to identify and execute how each individual can intentionally elevate allyship. Secondly, provide organizations dedicated to embedding diversity, equity and inclusion into the fabric of their mission, values and purpose, a strategy to foster environments of belonging where everyone is welcomed, heard, supported and valued. This will be an unprecedented knowledge transfer, leaving attendees with an awareness, desire, knowledge, ability and reinforcement capability for sustainable change.
